Keep It Up

Tap the ball to keep it in the air. Count how many kicks you can string together.

How to play

  1. Tap on or close to the ball to knock it upward.
  2. Where you tap matters: hit it on the left and it flies right, and the other way round.
  3. If the ball drops off the bottom of the screen, your run ends.

Control: Tap

About Keep It Up

Keep It Up is keepy-uppy with one finger. A ball drops from the top of the screen and you keep it in the air by tapping it. Each successful tap is a kick, and the kicks are your score.

How it works

A tap only counts if it lands on the ball or close beside it. The ball always goes up, but its sideways movement depends on where you touched. Tap dead centre and it rises nearly straight. Tap towards the left edge and it shoots off to the right. There is a small random nudge in every kick too, so no two are the same.

The ball bounces off the side walls and the top of the screen, losing a little speed each time.

It gets harder as your count rises. Gravity grows stronger with every kick, so the ball spends less time in the air and comes down faster.

Playing it well

Tap under the middle. A central kick sends the ball straight up and keeps it where you can reach it. Most runs end after a kick that caught the edge and sent the ball flying sideways.

If the ball is drifting, correct it. Tap slightly on the side it is heading towards and you will push it back.

Wait for it to come down. Tapping a ball that is still rising adds little and risks a miss. Let it fall to a comfortable height, about a third of the way up the screen, and kick there.

Do not let it get too low. The lower it falls, the faster it is moving and the less time you have.

Keep your finger near the ball between kicks instead of resting it at the edge.

Twenty kicks is respectable. It is one of the few HTML5 games that feels a bit like the real thing.
